Life Changes

 Dennis’ life changed in 1975 when he walked into his first PE class at Brocklehurst Junior Secondary school and again in 2001 outside the Bonsor Rec Centre in Burnaby.

 

I learned a lot about responsibility after living on the farm in Violet Grove, AB for a few years. The cows had to be milked at 7 in the morning and 7 in the evening; no excuses. Our pigs and chickens needed attention too.

 

A few years and a few moves later which included stops in Calgary and Vernon we arrived in Kamloops. Mr. Butler my PE teacher asked if I wanted to play football. I said, “OK”. I was a big, kind of shy kid and I never wanted to stand out. Football teams like big kids; it was a good fit.

 

My determination and confidence grew through this sport. I earned a scholarship at Simon Fraser University in 1978 and a spot on the roster of the BC Lions in 1982. My CFL career lasted 6 years and included a Grey Cup championship in 1985.

 

I met Allison outside the Bonsor Recreation Centre in Burnaby in 2001. She took my breath away. We were married within a year. Do you know how sometimes you just know? We will be celebrating our 5 anniversary Aug 28^th. You may see us out walking our 3 dogs Riley, Henry and Georgia. 2 of our 3 babies are SPCA rescues.

 

I have found passion for helping people make the right move. You see my move to Victoria 5 years ago meant a career change too. I am proud to say that I am entering into my 3^rd year as a licensed Realtor with DFH Real Estate. I approach things a little differently than the average agent. I believe open communication between my clients and me is absolutely critical to a mutually beneficial outcome.
